Living in San Francisco where we pride ourselves in our gastro-scene, I have elevated standards when it comes to food. It’s a constant conversation here – where’s the best sushi? – Where are the best tapas? – Where can I get the best steak? Recently, my foodie-radar went off when I had one of the tastiest dinners in a long time; and it was 4 hours outside of San Francisco! I was on assignment an hour north of Lake Tahoe when I heard about Chef Alex Lester at NAKOMA GOLF RESORT & SPA in Clio, California.

A seasoned chef that has worked in several famous kitchens in London, New York and Los Angeles; He has brought his world-class taste and his artful eye for presentation to the restaurant at Nakoma. Chef Alex Lester creates four distinct menus throughout the day that are offered at the elegant Wigwam Room, the FloW Bar Lounge and the stunning Terrace Deck. All dining areas celebrate the beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright designed architecture that makes this resort one of a kind.
