Karl Lagerfeld presented his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week inside the Grand Palais-turned Chanel Supermarket for this unique and amazing presentation. Making the mundane task of grocery shopping chic, Karl had Cara and the girls walk through the Chanel stocked aisles while holding baskets made of iconic leather chains. Some of the models pushed bright red and blue Chanel shopping carts while perusing the different food departments Stéfan Lubrina created and stocked with assorted goods. My personal favorite is the classic Chanel flap bag that was held in a plastic wrap with price sticker as if one was carrying their filet mignon on a Chanel chain.

Stéfan Lubrina designed over 500 grocery items made for this presentation that had unique Chanel labels, many of which referenced Coco Chanel and the codes of the house. Chanel offered up all these real groceries to the guests and donated the rest. The collection was refreshing and quite sporty. The Chanel sneakers we saw in the last Haute Couture show made their RTW debut, and the entire collection had an athletic tone except for the couple who walked in the show wearing a more elegant, traditional look. The man in a black suit and the woman was in a pink tweed Chanel suit while carrying Chanel shopping bags as though they left the boutique and came to the grocery store to pick up a few items for dinner.

The Chanel market was packed with noted guests such as Rihanna, Anna Wintour and Keira Knightley, seen perusing Karl's aisles for “Délice de Gabrielle” tuna and Chanel stamped biscuits. The show made for some amazing photographs of Cara Delevingne, Joan Smalls and Rihanna playfully riding a shopping cart around while grabbing several bottles of "Tweed Lemon Soda" and entertaining the slough of photographers after the show.
